Soft Garlic Herb and Cheese Bread

Ingredients

3/4 cup warm milk
1 package active yeast
2 tablespoons honey
3 large eggs at room temperature
3 1/2 cups Niobrara Grain and Milling Turkey Red Flour
1 teaspoon salt
2 cups of cheddar or a cheese of your taste (1 cup shredded, 1 cup cubed)
1 cup mozzarella ( 1/2 shredded, 1/2 cubed)
1/4 cup grated parmesan
1/3 cup fresh chopped herbs (basil, oregano and or thyme)
2 cloves fresh garlic, minced

Directions

  1. Combine warm milk, honey and yeast. Let sit for 10 minutes until bubbles form.
  2. Add eggs, 3 cups of flour and salt to the milk mixture. Mix until combined.
  3. Using a dough hook, mix in the flour mixture until combined. Dough should be smooth and pulling away from the bowl. Add flour 1⁄4-1⁄2 cup at a time as needed.
  4. Cover the bowl and let sit for 1 hour or until doubled in size in a warm place.
  5. In a bowl combine the cheeses, chopped herbs and garlic
  6. Punch dough down and roll out on a lightly floured surface into a large rectangle.
  7. Sprinkle the cheese mixture over the dough evenly.
  8. Roll the dough into a log, keeping it tight. When you reach the edge, seal the edge.
  9. Use a sharp knife to cut the log in half lengthwise, leaving a small portion of the end intact.
  10. Cross the dough ropes over each other, twisting the length of the dough.
  11. Coil the dough into a circle. Transfer the dough to a parchment lined baking sheet. Let sit for 15 minutes.
  12. Preheat oven to 350 . Bake bread for 30-35 minutes until golden brown. Slice and serve warm.
